Anant Chaturdashi 2023: It’s time for one of the most poignant farewells of all – the Ganesh Visarjan. After a spirited celebration of ten days during Ganesh Chathurthi, people bid adieu to Lord Ganesha. This farewell involves the immersion of the deity’s idol into a nearby water body. The ceremony takes place on the auspicious day of Anant Chaturdasi, which falls on the fourteenth day of the Shukla Paksha in the Hindu month of ‘Bhadrapada.’ In the year 2023, this event is scheduled for September 28th, a Thursday.
Before devotees embark on the Ganesh Visarjan journey in September, they engage in special prayers to seek the Lord’s blessings. Discover the most auspicious times for puja (prayer) and Ganpati Visarjan (immersion) to ensure a divine connection during this festival.
Anant Chaturdashi Puja Timings & Muhurat
The entire day is considered highly auspicious. However, experts recommend the best time for puja to be in the morning, specifically from 6.12 a.m. to 7.42 a.m., followed by the Visarjan ceremony.
This time period is regarded as the Shubha Muhurat for performing the ritual. Ideally, the puja and aarti should be conducted during the brahmamuhurat, which spans from 3.45 a.m. to 4.15 a.m.
It’s important to note that the hours between 7.42 a.m. and 11 a.m. are not conducive for making bhog offerings, conducting puja, or commencing Visarjan procedures. During this time frame, reciting bhajans (devotional songs) is recommended.
