Many automakers in India compete for consumers’ attention, but none can match the success of Maruti Suzuki, India’s biggest automaker. Consistently dominant in terms of both total sales and market share, Maruti had another successful month in September, controlling 41.6% of the overall passenger car market and seeing six of its models place among the top best-sellers. The top-selling Maruti models in 2023 are shown below.

  1. Maruti Suzuki Brezza

Taking advantage of the increased demand for small SUVs over the Christmas season, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza climbed to the number three spot on Maruti’s monthly sales rankings and the number two spot overall in September 2023. The Maruti Suzuki Brezza outsold all of its rivals save for the Nexon, selling 15,001 units while showing a little 3% decrease in year-on-year performance. All of this is a result of the positive reception the second-generation Brezza has received. Maruti has struck the nail on the head with the second iteration of its SUV, which has several highly requested amenities such as a sunroof, 360-degree camera, and heads-up display.

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza is powered by a 1.5-liter petrol engine mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic; the automatic trims now offer mild hybrid technology, returning up to 20.15 km/l, while the manual trims return up to 17.38 km/l. Brezza CNG models provide fuel economy of up to 25.51 km/kg, thus reducing operating costs.

  1. Maruti Suzuki Dzire

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire demonstrated why sedans would never go out of style, despite the market’s current obsession with sport utility vehicles. The Dzire sold 13,880 units, an increase of 45% year over year, making it the sixth best-selling Maruti vehicle of the month and the most popular sedan. The Dzire stood out from the crowd because to its large cabin, outstanding fuel economy and high-quality amenities for the low price it was offered at.

The Dzire is the sedan variant of the Swift hatchback, and like the hatchback it is powered by a 1.2-liter DualJet petrol engine paired to a five-speed manual or automatic transmission. The Dzire achieves fuel economy values of up to 22.61 km/l for gasoline and 31.12 km/kg for compressed natural gas.

  1. Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara

In September, Grand Vitara celebrated its one year on the Indian market, and the sales figures show that it quickly rose to become one of the country’s most popular sport utility vehicles (SUVs). The Grand Vitara is an excellent value because to its sophisticated combination of high utility, a well-balanced design, luxury amenities, and powerful performance. Because of this, the SUV sold 11,736 units in September 2023, making it the third best-selling SUV and the seventh best-selling Maruti vehicle that month, representing a staggering increase of 146% from the previous year.

The Grand Vitara is a direct descendant of the Maruti 800 and offers two fuel-efficient engine options: a 1.5-liter mild hybrid with either a five-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic, and a 1.5-liter strong hybrid with an e-CVT automatic. Talking about economy, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara proudly ranks as the most fuel-efficient vehicle in its category, delivering a mileage of 21.11 km/l on the Mild Hybrid Manual, 27.97 km/l on the strong hybrid automatic and 26.6 km/kg on CNG. As a result of this alone, the Grand Vitara has risen above its rivals to become the superior option.

  1. Maruti Suzuki Fronx

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx, released in April 2023, has been a huge commercial success since its introduction. The crossover SUV, which boasts Maruti’s modern design language, is packed with high-tech amenities for its customers. These include a heads-up display, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, and more. The Fronx is an attractive crossover SUV because of its low starting price and efficient engines. In its fifth month on the market, the Fronx sold 11,455 units, making it the eighth best-selling Maruti vehicle overall and the fifth best-selling small SUV of the month.

Both the 1-liter turbo-petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology and the 1.2-liter DualJet petrol unit are available with a choice of five-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmissions. Both the turbo petrol (with a maximum of 21.5 km/l) and the normally aspirated unit (with a maximum of 22.89 km/l) deliver excellent fuel economy.

  1. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz

The Maruti Ciaz is a top-selling midsize sedan produced by Maruti Suzuki, the market leader in India. The Ciaz was first introduced in 2014, and it rapidly became a best-seller because to its attractive exterior, roomy cabin, excellent fuel economy, and reasonable price. It is a formidable rival in the midsize sedan market, a class notorious for its intense competition.

The Ciaz’s chrome-finished grille, sharp headlights, and well-defined lines contribute to its sophisticated appearance. It has an air of refined elegance that will appeal to a broad variety of buyers.

The Ciaz’s roomy interior is one of its best characteristics. It has excellent legroom and headroom for both front and back passengers, making it pleasant for lengthy excursions. The cabin materials are of a high standard for their price range.

  1. Maruti Suzuki Jimny

Compact sport utility vehicle (SUV) made by Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest automaker. Also sold under the Suzuki name in select regions. The Jimny has been a favorite among adventurers and regular city dwellers due to its reputation for toughness and off-road performance.

The Jimny’s compact and rugged form gives it a unique and endearing appearance, and it also aids in the vehicle’s off-road capabilities. Because of its small size, it can easily negotiate narrow passages and difficult ground.

It has high terrain clearance, a powerful suspension system, and AllGrip Pro 4×4 technology. These attributes enable it to manage a broad variety of terrains, including mud, snow, gravel, and steep inclines.

A tiny but powerful engine provides the propulsion for the Jimny, making it suitable for both paved roads and rough terrain. Both efficiency and dependability have made the engine popular.
